Get To Know The MOBAS Dictionary.

Have you taken the time to listen to gamer lingo? Or being more specific… MOBA jargon? If so, you know that these players express themselves a lot with abbreviations or words that, in the first instance. They may seem like a bunch of meaningless words, but they really do have a meaning behind them. In this article you will know the meaning of words such as ADC, SUP, MID, BOT, BAN, AFK, BUF, etc… In a few words, you will know the dictionary of MOBAs.

It is worth mentioning that most mobas share a dictionary and words with the same meaning. But there are some that have their own words, exclusive for some gameplay, hero or object within the game. In this case, only those words in general use will be dealt with, without focusing on any specific moba dictionary.

Mobas Dictionary: The battlefield.

Let’s start by defining those words used to describe or refer to some positions or areas on the map. Taking into account that most mobas follow the three-lane standard, regardless of the style or design of the map, the areas of the map continue to be called the same.

  • Topline. It refers to the top lane of the map, the same lane where tanks or warriors generally circulate.
  • Midline. It is the middle lane, and the team wizard usually goes there.
  • BotLine. Known in Spanish as the bottom lane, the ADC (Shooter) and the support circulate in it.
  • Jungle or JG. They are those areas that separate each lane and that are generally full of mobs or creatures that the jungler must farm.
  • Base or Nexus. It is the base of your team, and point of appearance and regeneration of the heroes.
  • They are the non-player creatures found on the map.
  • They are some mobs that spawn from the base of each team, and their function will always be to try to knock down a tower.
  • Spawn. It refers to the action of appearing or reviving within the map.

These are some of the words within the moba dictionary used within the maps. Either to refer to a location or elements within it.

Roles of the Heroes or champions.

Now that we know the map, what follows is to know the heroes or champions of the game.  Well, some have their own words that define it…

  • It is the way of abbreviating to Support or team support.
  • They are the acronym for Attack Damage Carry, and it is basically the role of the team’s Shooter, they are those characters with the ability to attack from a distance.

Activate your movements within the game.

Just as there are words to refer to map elements and team roles, there are also words to describe certain actions within the game. Some that can be highlighted we have…

  • It’s basically putting pressure on a lane, with putting pressure it refers to clearing enemy minions and taking down towers.
  • It is to act as bait, so that the enemy falls into a trap or play by your team, for example a possible gank.
  • The gank is to ambush your rival, in order to kill him that way.
  • Farming is the action of eliminating minions or mobs from the jungle, in order to obtain money to buy items and improvements.
  • It is the action of going back, either stop pushing a lane or go back to the nexus to heal yourself.
  • Trades are those 1v1 fights where damage is received and dealt to the opponent.
  • TF or Team Fight. It is what team fights are called, when all or several members of the team come together to attack the rival team.
  • It is when you chase an enemy until you can kill him.
  • Focus or focus is when you focus on the same objective in order to defeat it throughout the game.
  • Get away from the game.

As you can see, the mobas dictionary is quite extensive, however we still need to deal with a few last terms.

Mobas dictionary: Game times.

To conclude this article, we want to comment on the game times:

  • Early Game. It is the early game, that is, the first minutes of the game.
  • Mid Game. It is the intermediate point of the game, and where the first combats or TF of the game begin to take place.
  • Late Game. They are already the last minutes of the game, and it is when a possible winner or loser begins to be appreciated.

That’s it for the moba dictionary, at least for the most common words used in this type of game. If you liked it, you can support us by leaving a comment with what word we missed to comment.
