Today more than being an entry where some concept, term or meaning of something is defined. We will learn something much more important, and that is knowing how to recognize, appreciate and admire the work of an educator. There are few times that the work and importance of an educator is recognized, not only speaking within society, but also what they have represented in our evolution and development as a person. Being an educator is not just being a person who stands in front of a group of students (or an individual) and shares their knowledge about a specific subject. Educators are there for many other things, and that is what we want to share today in this post.
This article will be more aimed at our Latino public, since we know that the profession of educator is not so well regarded in those parts. eye! This is not intended to give some kind of discrimination to our Hispanic brothers in Latin America. We only rely on certain opinions and information that has been collected on the internet, where the little importance given to the teaching career is perceived. Even to the point where in some countries (such as Chile) commercials have been broadcast on television commenting on this topic. Not to mention countries like Venezuela that due to their current situation the teacher is very “mistreated” for the same situation they present.
What is the role of educators?
The first point to discuss is what is the job that comes from being an educator. Since for what we will explain in the next point, it is essential to be clear about this. In order to be able to develop the idea and reflection as it should.
In order not to complicate ourselves so much in the explanation of the work of an educator. You have to know that these are individuals studied and prepared in various fields of study. Being mostly of a scientific nature, such as mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, etc… However, in order to earn the title of “Educator”. It is necessary to have passed the degree process in the corresponding institution that grants it (mostly Universities).
I know that some at this point may think “But you can be an educator without having such a degree.” And the truth is that they would not be wrong, because anyone who simply exercises the action of transferring knowledge to another person can be an educator. However, here we are evaluating the term from a more formal point of view. For this reason, we consider it a requirement to have a degree that guarantees your knowledge in that subject that the educator has decided to specialize in.
To be an educator, one must also be a parent.
Don’t take the title literally. Well, obviously it is not required to be a father literally to be able to be an educator. The reason why we titled this point that way is more symbolic and we will explain it below.
Although in the previous point we explained what is the main function of an educator (which is nothing more than teaching, sharing their knowledge with students). This should also play the role of counselor, guide and a person who supports their students to always give their best. Be demanding and encourage your students to always give their best to pass, but above all to learn in the process. Well, at the end of the day, the most valuable thing is that the students take something of what the educator teaches, and not a simple note.
It must be taken into account that educators are a fundamental piece in the development of young people. And therefore the future of our society, since children receive advice from an educator from an early age, going through kindergarten, primary school, high school and so on until they complete their academic training. Thus being able to become a useful and active member of society.
But that is not achieved at the point of pure exams, guidance, advice and guidance must be present when being an educator at all times.
Conclusion and Reflection.
After everything discussed in this post, the importance of being an educator is clearer. So we hope that the next time you see your teachers. And that this person is someone dedicated to his work, you feel admiration for his contribution and for taking the time and care to share his knowledge with you.
